It is very touching! I don't have any experience with having family in prison, but i agree that anyone can make mistakes and you shouldn't hold it against them forever. But I am curious to know if you ever felt angry that your mother had left you this way? How did you handle that anger? Did you biological father play a role in raising you? People who don't have the same issues that you must have had while growing up don't even know how to handle anger about the smallest thing. But you sound like a mature young lady despite the separation from your mom. Hope you can provide some important insight into handling anger toward family and dealing with a sense of abandonment.
