I have a brother--he is somewhere out there and i hope he is still alive. I lost touch with him after his third stint in prison. our family had to cut him off because in a way he was not the same person anymore because of drugs. My mother has never been the same after cutting off ties with him. Guilt must be eating her up. You’re right that many many families have gone through similar situations.
