Ana Maria Toro is currently getting her master’s at CUNY Graduate School of Journalism, where she is concentrating on interactive media and urban affairs. She was a reporter at El Mensajero, a Latino newspaper in San Francisco, and her work has appeared in Tiempo New York and Tangodiva.com.
At CUNY J-School, she has written about immigration, poverty and criminal justice issues in New York City. She aims to continue reporting on issues affecting immigrant and poor communities.
